Another great day of service spent at a local gem, The Rice Homestead! On Wednesday, October 6th, Northville Rotarians teamed up with homestead volunteers to make quick work of some fall projects around the historic site in Mayfield.
The crew did a thorough cleanup of leaves, pruned and trimmed perennials and shrubs to prep the gardens for winter, unearthed and freshened up the herb garden, moved the picnic tables to store for winter, removed and replaced the roof of the wood shed, and had a whole lot of fun doing it. When a little extra muscle was needed, Rotarians Kyle and Darcy Morehouse donated their team from Grassroots Lawn Specialists to do some heavy lifting, and when we needed a little extra boost, Rotarian Bob Smith showed up with the cider and donuts. Good work for a great cause!
